**Job description**
**Position: Safety and Compliance Officer (U.S. Transportation Regulations - Canada-Based)**
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Monitor and ensure compliance with **U.S. DOT and FMCSA** regulations
- Manage **IFTA reporting** and maintain accurate fuel tax documentation
- Oversee **cross-border documentation and U.S. customs compliance**, including **CTPAT**:
- Maintain **driver qualification files**, monitor **hours of service (HOS)**, and ensure proper use of **ELD systems**:
- Ensure full compliance with the **FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse** and related testing requirements
- Conduct regular **safety audits, risk assessments, and compliance training sessions** for staff and drivers
**Requirements**:
- Must be **legally authorized to work in Canada**:
- Proven experience with **U.S. transportation safety and compliance** regulations
- Familiarity with cross-border operations and documentation
- Strong understanding of **IFTA, FMCSA, CSA, ELDs, and drug/alcohol testing requirements**:
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
Qualifications:
3+ years in transportation compliance or fleet safety
Strong knowledge of IFTA, CTPAT, PIP, CSA, and FMCSA rules
Experience with cross-border trucking procedures
Proficiency in ELD systems and MS Office
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $17.20-$21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Flexible language requirement:
- French not required
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
