**Job Overview**
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Family Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support and resources to families in need, helping them navigate challenges and improve their overall well-being. You will work closely with children and their families to foster a nurturing environment that promotes healthy development and positive relationships.

**Position Summary**:
The Family Support Worker plays a key role in supporting families by providing advocacy, resources, and culturally relevant services. This position builds trusting relationships with families, promotes positive parenting, and connects them with community resources to ensure their children's success in our program.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Build strong, trusting relationships with families and provide ongoing support.
- Conduct home visits and family check-ins to assess needs and offer assistance.
- Advocate for families by connecting them with resources such as housing, employment, childcare, and health services.
- Develop and facilitate workshops on parenting, life skills, and cultural teachings.
- Support families in crisis by offering referrals and assistance in accessing services.
- Collaborate with AHS staff, Elders, and community partners to provide a holistic support system.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of interactions and services provided.
- Promote a safe, welcoming, and culturally affirming environment for families.

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Diploma or Degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field.
- Experience working with Indigenous families and communities.
- Knowledge of Indigenous cultures, traditions, and language (an asset).
- Strong understanding of family support principles, trauma-informed care, and early childhood development.
- Excellent communication, advocacy, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Clear criminal record and vulnerable sector check required.
- Child Care First Aid required.
