**Job Purpose**

QC Lead Inspectors purpose is to keep pace with the fabrication shop and complete functions prior to welding along with interfacing with fabrication crews.

**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Understanding and knowledge of owner and client specifications
- Understanding of Academy’s QC Manual
- Confirming that the dimensions of spools meet fabrication tolerances
- Verifying all elements, and signing off on red stamp for cut sheets
- Review radiographic film and reports
- Review and sign off NDE reports
- Coordinate NDE company
- Coordinate/provide clearance for spools to/from PWHT, coating facilities etc.
- Maintain log/daily tracking sheet (i.e. spools dimensioned per day)
- Understanding priority sequencing, and works to this sequence
- Working with production to complete pipe spools
- Prepare, review and maintain turnover binders
- Interface with client inspectors
- General oversight and indirect supervision of the other welding inspectors

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 3 Years of similar experience in a fabrication shop is required
- CSA 178.2 Level 2 is required
- Journeyman Welder ticket would be considered an asset
- Experience with Bluebeam Revu would be considered an asset
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- A good understanding of quality inspection procedures, code compliance, and equipment
- Detail oriented

Supplemental pay types:

- Onoway, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- qc lead: 3 years (required)
- pipe fabrication: 5 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

- CSA 178.2 Level 2 (required)
- Journeyman Welder Ticket (preferred)
