We are currently looking for a **Production Supervisor to join our Kitchener, Ontario team. (Weekly rotating shifts; Monday to Friday, 6am to 230pm, 230pm to 11pm)**

**Competencies**

**Job Duties**
- Ensure that all employees comply with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards
- Ensure the effectiveness of employees through strategic hiring, assignment of duties, discipline, and dismissal
- Provide leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training, and development
- Provide informal feedback and coaching to staff on an ongoing basis
- Ensure all necessary materials, components, tooling and supplies required are available for the completion of production orders prior to issuance to the production floor.
- Oversee staff to ensure work is being performed according to established standards (consistency of run speeds for maximum production efficiency).
- Plan the department's workload and flow to meet established production schedules within quality specifications.
- Expedite and co-ordinate detailed scheduling, machine loading, production order routing and the systematic release of orders to the production floor in accordance with the master schedule.
- Work closely with Production Manager, Cable Operations and participate in planning and establishing a production schedule to meet the overall master schedule and customers' requirements.
- Ensure that safe work practices are being followed and all staff are equipped with and are using the proper personal protective equipment.
- Maintain costs within assigned budget.
- Oversee compliance with company policies and standards for scrap control and spending on rework and implement corrective action as required.
- Recommend the need for machinery and tooling maintenance, changes to workforce, replacement or additions of new equipment and tooling.
- Oversee departmental outputs, ensuring they meet production schedules, safety and quality standards, as well as customer needs
- Participate in site and workplace inspections

**Job Requirements**
- Secondary school is required; Post-secondary degree is an asset
- Five years of experience in a management role within a manufacturing setting
- Ability to work under time constraints and manage bottlenecks and tight resources
- Strong communication skills - both verbal and written
- Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills
