The **Edmonton Country Club** (established in 1896) is Alberta’s first private golf club and is about to complete a major course renovation that will elevate our membership experience to among the elite of the province’s private clubs.

We are seeking an energetic and skilled **Assistant Food & Beverage Manager** to help lead the department and deliver exceptional member service. You will interact genuinely with members to build rapport and foster an inviting atmosphere, promptly and effectively implement solutions to issues, and consistently strive to enhance the club’s culinary experience.

As one of the organization’s department leaders, you will be responsible for the overall performance and satisfaction of our Food and Beverage (F&B) program with a focus on building and developing your team to provide outstanding hospitality.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Ensure overall objectives, policies and programs for the F&B operation are implemented, administered, maintained, adhered to, and improved.
- Regularly and effectively communicate with members, your team, and other club departmental key personnel.
- Address feedback from members and staff and communicate corrective action as necessary.
- Maintain a high profile and visibility with members, maintaining strong level of integrity.
- Lead the successful delivery of the club’s F&B offerings in all service areas including member casual dining, fine dining, club events, outside functions, meetings, and snack shack.
- Ensure that F&B outlets and operating procedures are compliant with all regulatory requirements.
- Create a culture of excellence and accountability within your team.

**LEADERSHIP**
- Recruit, hire, and actively develop enthusiastic staff. Implement extensive onboarding/training programs, with ongoing positive reinforcement, corrective coaching, motivation, support, and mentoring.
- Provide an environment where honesty, fairness, integrity, safety, and a workplace free of harassment set the standard of conduct for all staff, including management.
- Train and assist staff in their duties with the overall objective of providing attentive, timely service, and an enjoyable experience for our members and guests.
- Ensure that your team has the tools and resources to succeed.
- Oversee F&B scheduling to effectively accomplish the work within budget expectations.
- Conduct regular F&B staff meetings to ensure department leaders and staff are appropriately prepared for daily activities and upcoming functions.
- Ensure staff understand club rules, and with the support of management, enforce policies relating to F&B activities or conduct as may be necessary.

**FINANCE**
- Guide the financial management of the annual F&B operating budget including preparation, explanation, forecasting, implementation, along with monthly reporting.
- Take corrective actions as necessary to help ensure budget goals are attained or exceeded.
- Review and develop controls for the ordering, receiving and the sale of all F&B inventory. Complete weekly and monthly inventory counts and controls, requisitions, and reconciliations.
- Stay apprised of and suggest new revenue growth opportunities or cost-saving measures.
- Ensure proper and accurate billing of all F&B purchases to members, guests, staff, and functions.
- Maintain strong relationships with industry suppliers to ensure satisfactory quality and pricing on purchases.

**PLANNING**
- Working with the Executive Chef, develop menu planning and changes as required throughout the year.
- Continue to introduce innovative programs and offerings to maintain high levels of engagement throughout the membership including special menu member events, wine tastings, pairings, etc.
- Frequently inspect outlets, including dining areas, bars, kitchen, storage areas, freezers and coolers, snack shack to evaluate if standards are being met and implement improvements in systems as necessary.
- Ensure F&B equipment and capital assets are properly serviced and maintained. Integral in reviewing current and future operational and capital needs for the department.
- Report to and meet regularly with the General Manager to openly review feedback, plans, and discuss areas for improvement.

**DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
- Minimum three (3) years in F&B management.
- Preference for those with experience at a private club or other upscale resorts, golf courses, restaurants, or hotel experiences will also be considered.
- Knowledge and/or keen interest in the game of golf preferred, but not necessary.
