**Outside Sales Specialist - Commercial Furniture & Business Development**

**Position Summary**

The Sales Representative plays a key role in driving revenue growth and expanding Farage Furniture+Upholstery’s market presence across Western Canada. This role is responsible for developing new business opportunities, strengthening relationships with existing clients, and positioning the company as a trusted partner to hospitality groups, designers, developers, general contractors, and commercial clients.

This role requires a consultative, relationship-driven sales approach. The Sales Representative will work closely with internal team members to ensure proposals are aligned with client needs and that projects progress smoothly, but the primary focus of the role is **business development, account growth, and market expansion**.

**Key Responsibilities**_Sales & Business Development_
- Generate new business opportunities across multiple market segments including hospitality (hotels), restaurants, senior living, and commercial clients
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve or exceed sales targets and revenue objectives
- Identify and qualify prospective customers through research, cold outreach, networking, trade shows, referrals, and industry events
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing accounts and prospective clients
- Prepare and deliver persuasive proposals, and product demonstrations tailored to customer needs
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to close sales and secure long-term partnerships
- Collaborate with internal teams (operations, design, production) to ensure customer requirements are clearly understood and fulfilled
- Customer & Market Insight_
- Monitor and report market trends, competitive intelligence, and customer needs to inform product and strategy decisions.
- Provide timely updates on sales pipeline, forecasting, and customer feedback to senior leadership.
- Operational & Administrative Support_
- Assist with administrative tasks that support daily operations and client servicing, including but not limited to:

- Updating CRM with accurate lead and customer information
- Preparing quotes, proposals, and sales documentation
- Supporting project scheduling and coordination
- Assisting with sample logistics and product information dissemination
- Ownership of full customer journey, from order through to delivery and installation, inclusive of participation in cross-functional activities to ensure seamless customer experience with consistently high satisfaction.

**Requirements & Qualifications**_Education & Experience_
- **5+ years of professional sales experience** **in commercial B2B**, furniture, design, or related industries. Relevant background selling to offices, hospitality, or commercial clients is strongly preferred
- Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field an asset
- Skills & Competencies_
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets in a territory environment
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Strong business acumen and ability to develop strategic customer relationships
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment
- Proficiency in CRM software and Google Workspace, Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Calendar
- Willingness to travel as required
- Preferred Attributes_
- Experience with long sales cycles, consultative selling and effective funnel management
- Familiarity with commercial furniture products, space planning, and design considerations
