**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Manager of Initiatives and Program Planning, the Sponsored Initiatives Coordinator position is a complex, multifaceted position that is responsible for the case-management, coordination, and delivery of sponsored programs and projects including, but not limited to, Better Jobs Ontario and WSIB.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Sets goals, objectives, and targets for all Sponsored Initiative programs activity and/or milestone and maintains strict timelines.
- Develops, compiles and maintains the overall work plans, tracks and analyzes program results, and submits reports to the Manager of Initiatives and Program Planning.
- Identifies problems within the initiatives, troubleshoots, and problem solves using creative, cost-effective solutions, while monitoring project activities and timelines to ensure they meet the program plans.
- Develops, maintains and oversees student data tracking and management process.
- In absence of the Manager of Initiatives and Program Planning, will function as point of contact for government representatives, community members and the wider college community.
- Oversees and coordinates activity planning and delivery of sponsored initiative events.
- Coordinates, organizes and oversees outreach and information events, the delivery of student success initiatives (e.g., how to pay for college workshops, career planning presentations).
- Serves as main point of contact for all WSIB inquiries.
- Assigns student files to Student Success Advisors.
- Executes a wide range of specific communication materials, including internal staff Ministry reports, marketing materials, conference presentations and information flow within the Community Partnerships Office (CPO).
- Troubleshoots WSIB billing issues, resolving them within service agreement timelines.
- Case manages WSIB-sponsored students, meeting with them weekly to track progress, troubleshoot registration and academic problems, provides referrals to GBC supports/services, and makes pathway and support recommendations to students and their WSIB representatives.
- Completes and submits detailed semester-end progress reports, pre-sponsorship guidance reports, and study plans for WSIB sponsored students to WSIB.
- Responsible for data and reporting management by ensuring that WSIB databases are updated, analyzing historical data, and tracking student progress and retention.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
**Educational and Experience Requirements**:
- Three-year diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Community and Social Services, Education, Adult Education, or equivalent.
- Certifications related to student advising, conflict de-escalation, mediation, counseling, would be considered an asset.
- Minimum of three years’ work experience within an educational institution, and/or a community setting, with demonstrated experience working with adult populations.
- Experience working with marginalized communities is mandatory in this position.
**Skills and Attributes**:
- Demonstrated project management skills are essential.
- Must possess strong negotiation and diplomacy skills and be able to manage stakeholders with competing/conflicting interests and expectations.
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills; experience writing reports, activity proposals, and program outlines.
- Familiarity with college systems and processes and changing government requirements related to government funded sponsored initiatives.
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills in order to identify problems, determine possible solutions, and select appropriate actions.
- Excellent time management, multi-tasking and organizational skills; high level of accuracy with attention to detail.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to delegate and coordinate.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision and take initiative.
- Travel between campuses is required.
- Demonstrated commitment to uphold the College’s priorities on diversity and equity.
