Financial Analyst/cost-control Analyst

Reporting to the COO, the Financial Analyst’s responsibilities incorporate executing cost control activities through the preparation of numerous cost reports, monitoring & evaluating trends, analyzing, updating forecasts, change management and reporting on cost variance. The Analyst is expected to interface regularly with Operations Manager, COO, VP, Subcontractors, or other team members to manage accurate, updated information on project costs/budget/billing. We are looking for someone who can help us boost business and make seamless financial decisions. An enthusiastic person who can bring in new projections and make good investments. A detail-oriented self-starter, excellent team player, with robust analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills are highly required to work efficaciously with multiple stakeholders externally and internally.
**PRIMARY FUNCTIONS**:
- Manage project budget earned vs burned hours and/or costs, analyze risk and opportunities and provide feedback to the management
- Understand contract requirements, reconcile reimbursable expenses and hours vs paid and address with AR/billing team to ensure prompt billing to the client
- Assist with billing support and billing administration to include daily processing, corrections, data entry, filing, reconciling, and communicating discrepancies internally and to the client as needed
- Help with cost forecast process and work closely with the client on required formats
- Provide variance reporting and in-depth analysis to ensure any deviation from project plan is highlighted, analyzed, and reported as directed
- Validate subcontracts costs, investigate, and report any variances.
- Generate Progress and Performance Curves
- Create and manage daily, weekly, and monthly cost and progress reporting, as required by the team
- Ensure that all reports and analyses are consistent, and deadlines are met
- Evaluate raw data, interpret, and communicate results/corrective measures to the team
- Keep up with change management process and maintain change log
- Monitor KPI’s and provide feedback and corrective measures to Management
- Developing Base Cost Estimates
- Interact with internal stakeholders and client counterparts and meet their needs
- File management of records and reports necessary to comply with company/contract requirements and standards
- Host/Participate in progress meetings with stakeholders
- Work with team and participate in risk analysis sessions, provide feedback and recommendations/corrective measures to Management
- Assist with performing risk management analysis and maintain risk register
- Utilize proper time management skills & prioritize work; manage own time to meet agreed targets; develops plans for short-term work activities
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Minimum 1 year experience in the Construction or Manufacturing sector
- University degree in Commerce, Economics, Accounting, Business, Engineering, or related discipline. Recent graduates from top-tier universities will be considered
- Must possess Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to develop and troubleshoot excel spreadsheets/workbooks with formulas & macros and analyze raw data, interpret, and communicate results/corrective measures to the project team
- Working knowledge of Power BI is preferred
- Thorough understanding of Earned Value Management System
- Experience with Accounting, Billing and Business Operations is preferred
- Must be detailed oriented with strong analytical skills
- Possess strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team setting as well as independently
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to present complex technical issues in a clear and concise manner
