**The Opportunity**:
The Community Development Coordinator is responsible for leadership and supervision of community development and programming. This position focuses on implementing a community development approach to program and service delivery within Social, Arts and Culture focused areas. While managing this area, the incumbent is responsible for communications, safety and policy implementation.
- University undergraduate degree with major concentration in a community development, visual and/or performing arts area or recreation OR a combination of other education and relevant experience.
- At least two years of professional Community Development experience and supervisory experience combined with demonstrated understanding of using community development as a process for program and service delivery.
- Thorough knowledge of the principles, practices, methods and procedures used in the administration of recreation or cultural facilities, operations, programs and services.
- Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of community development.
- Ability to establish cordial relations with community organizations, service providers, staff, community partners, department staff, City officials, City departments, contractors, school boards, business community, service clubs, institutions as well as customers and the general public.
- Knowledge of Federal and Provincial legislation and City by-laws governing the operation of public buildings.

**Remuneration**:
$42.26 to $52.82 per hour.

**Hours of Work**:
75 hours biweekly, Monday to Friday. Some evening and weekend work may be required.
