Crafty Apes is a high-end visual effects company with a strong foothold in features and episodic television. We are hiring a Production Manager for our Montreal location, with experience managing VFX teams and a willingness to produce smaller VFX projects in a fast-paced environment. This is a full-time staff position with benefits.

**Responsibilities**:

- Project Management:_
- Working with producers and coordinators to manage the productions of specific shows in house
- Assist in the bidding process. Track the progress of bid items through delivery.
- Act as a point of contact for clients with respect to scope, budgeting, scheduling, and fulfilling milestones.
- Participate in pre-production and production meetings as needed.
- Work with CG/VFX Supervisors and Production team members to anticipate any potential concerns and follow up with efficient solutions in order to prevent schedule delays or budget overages.
- Help maintain a positive and supportive work environment.
- Maintain a highly professional demeanor and level of diplomacy.
- Daily management of ShotGrid to ensure updates made by coordinator and supervisor are correct
- Ensure delivery plan for the day is clear to Artists, Coordination, and Editorial.
- Work with Coordinator to ensure all shots targeted for delivery are ready to send.
- Catch-up with Editorial after morning Production catch-up to confirm delivery plan for the day.
- Ensure a cut-off time is put into place, and that this is managed well to minimize overtime.
- Crew Planning and Resource Management:_
- Responsible for working with Head of Studio, Producers and Supervisors to develop projects plans and schedules
- Consult project bids with producers to ensure proper teams are allocated to shows
- Forecast and flag any big picture scheduling issues with Head of Studio.
- Meet with Producers weekly to go over artist bookings (Internal, Outsource, and Freelance artists), and flagging when additional resources are required.
- Coordinate with Head of Studio and Recruiting to seek out new talent.
- Liaise with other location heads to manage shared resources.
- Consult with producers, Head of Studio and COO to interpret projected vs actual for use on current and future projects.
- Studio Management:_
- Work with Head of Studio, HR and IT to manage workstation setup and layout.
- Create an implement a system for tracking remote staff work locations.
- Oversee vacation and leave requests and coordinate coverage alongside project leads and Head of Studio.
- Work with Head of Studio and accounting to process related expenses and reimbursements for staff.
- Create and strengthen relationships with staff to serve as a central figure for triaging work related issues.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Minimum 2 years VFX Production Manager experience for episodic and film projects at a VFX or related facility.
- Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Well versed in the Post-Production process.
- Experience using ShotGrid (neé Shotgun) or similar production management software.
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Works well with tight deadlines and under pressure.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Word and Excel, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Google Suite, file transfer technologies such as Aspera.
