YMCA of Northern Alberta is seeking compassionate and dedicated Youth Justice Workers to support Young Persons with status under the Youth Criminal Justice Act during critical transitional points in their community reintegration journey. This role aims to enhance the likelihood of successful community integration by providing tailored, hands-on support and bridging service gaps between correctional and community systems. Youth Justice Workers will be based out of the Edmonton Youth Attendance Centre and operate across various sites, including correctional facilities, schools, community organizations, and government services. Working as part of a collaborative team, they will attend case conferences with professionals, the youth, and their families/support networks. This position involves providing individualized support to address the unique needs of Young Persons, including facilitating access to resources, assisting with transportation, and offering guidance on education and employment.

**Essential Functions**
- Provide service coordination and navigation, including connecting youth to housing, employment, education, health care, and social services.
- Engage with family and natural support networks to strengthen relationships.
- Assist with educational goals by accessing relevant supports.
- Offer pre-employment support, job preparation, resume building, and employment search assistance.
- Facilitate transportation for youth to appointments, school, and other critical locations.
- Make “warm referrals” to external resources, ensuring successful transitions to ongoing support.
- Act as a liaison between correctional centres, Probation Officers, Youth Attendance Centres, and community services.
- Work independently or collaboratively in team environments, ensuring the safety and well-being of youth at all times.

**What You’ll Need**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Criminology, or a related field.
- Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification.
- WHMIS certification.
- Child Welfare and Police Security Clearance.
- Cleared Enhanced Security Clearance (mandatory).
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and Suicide Intervention Certification (preferred).
- Valid driver’s license, clear driver’s abstract, and access to a vehicle.
- 2-4 years of experience working directly with justice-involved youth.
- Experience engaging with cultural groups, marginalized populations, and both urban and rural communities.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and problem-solve effectively.
- Knowledge of group facilitation, individual assessment, program planning, and evaluation.
- Familiarity with community, education, youth, and human services resources.
- Culturally sensitive and capable of addressing the diverse needs of participants.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other basic computer programs.
