**About the location**: Thunder Bay sits on the western shore of Lake Superior, the world's largest freshwater lake. Thunder Bay hosts epic outdoor adventures, a mix of global cultures and a balanced quality of life.**About the job**: As a member of the AFFES team, you will take charge of procuring forest fire equipment across the province. Every day will be a little different, but you can expect it to include activities like:
- preparing budget submissions, reconciling transactions and processing invoices and expenses.
- providing human resource support by overseeing the completion of hiring documents, certificates and WSIB reports.
- providing procurement support and fleet management services.
- providing group leadership and training to office administration and support staff.
- responding to enquiries and providing quality customer service to internal and external clients.
- performing a variety of administrative functions (e.g. composing and proof reading documents, coordinating meetings, etc.)
Please note: This position requires onsite presence at the Thunder Bay office five (5) days per week.**What you bring to the team**:
**Financial and Administrative Support Skills**: You have:
- experience coordinating financial activities (e.g. budget administration, resource allocation, financial reporting)
- knowledge of policies and procedures relating to procurement of goods/services.
- experience providing a wide range of administrative support services (records management and retention, correspondence tracking, fleet management etc.).
**Group Leadership and Communication Skills**: You have:
- leadership skills to assign work, provide training and administrative direction to seasonal staff in a team environment.
- effective oral communication skills to provide advice, train staff and prepare presentations.
- effective written communication skills to prepare a variety of correspondence and reports, as well as to proofread documents for accuracy.
**Human Resources Support**: You can:
- assist with human resources administration activities such as staff scheduling and payroll reporting.
**Analytical and Organizational Skills**: You can:
- review and interpret complex financial reports, identify and resolve accounting issues.
- resolve discrepancies with vendors and clients and prioritize issues.
- effectively respond to a high volume of diverse challenges and demands and to meet deadlines during escalated situations.
