**Job Description**:
As a Lead Carpenter, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of install work on our construction sites. You will collaborate with project managers, architects, subcontractors, and other team members to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Your expert knowledge of carpentry techniques and materials will be instrumental in providing guidance and training to junior carpenters.

**Responsibilities**:

- Take the lead on carpentry projects from start to finish, ensuring all tasks are completed according to specifications, codes and safety guidelines
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and other technical documents to plan and execute construction tasks
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble materials (wood, tile, drywall, etc.) using appropriate tools and techniques
- Install structures, fixtures, cabinets, trim work, and other carpentry items
- Collaborate with subcontractors and manage the workflow to meet project timelines
- Perform quality inspections and ensure workmanship meets company standards
- Train and mentor junior carpenters, providing guidance and instruction on techniques, safety, and best practices
- Properly maintain and handle tools, equipment and materials
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and industry regulations
- Troubleshoot issues and recommend solutions to ensure project progress and quality

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience as a Lead Carpenter or a similar role
- Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials and equipment
- Proficient in reading blueprints, sketches, and construction documents
- Excellent understanding of building codes, safety guidelines, and regulations
- Ability to manage a team and prioritize tasks effectively
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality craftmanship
- Strong problem solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or trade school education preferred
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Tools to complete renovations (expendables will be replaced as needed)

**Salary**: From $30.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Ottawa, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- carpentry: 5 years (required)

**Language**:

- English (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (required)
