Bookkeeper/payroll Specialist

**Job Overview**
**Duties**
- Process payroll for all employees accurately and in a timely manner using Payworks
- Collaborate with the HR Generalist to ensure compliance with labour laws and company policies regarding payroll practices.
- Assist in the preparation of payroll-related documentation for audits and reporting purposes.
- Stay updated on changes in payroll legislation and best practices to ensure compliance.
- Record all financial transactions accurately, including income, expenses, and inventory.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date records of accounts, invoices, and financial documentation.
- Reconcile accounts to ensure data accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for management review.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and generate relevant reports.
- Investigate and resolve inconsistencies or issues in financial records.
**Requirements**:
- Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist and Bookkeeper.
- Proficiency in using software such as Payworks and QuickBooks Online.
- Experience with accounts payable/receivable, and account reconciliations.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and data entry.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Analytical mindset to detect and address discrepancies in financial records.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Education in Accounting or Finance is preferred; relevant experience will also be considered.
Please notice that the position is 30 hours per week and 100% of the time is on-site work (not remote).
