Description and ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our Orion Steel Group LLC team. This dynamic Payroll Specialist is responsible for all aspects of day-to-day payroll including but not limited to data input, finance and HR reporting, and customer service. Prepare, verify, process, balance, and audit Canadian and US payrolls in accordance with provincial/state and federal legislation, policies and proceduresStay up to date on payroll compliance issues and ensure they are followedMaintain and audit timecards, extract hours, and perform reporting in Kronos Liaison for Workday/OSV Tax services (working with Payroll Manager to report tax issues to tax representative, process W2C’s/amended T4s, etc.) Assist in the testing of the payroll systemProcess reports relating to union deductions, financial reporting, and government programsProvide recommendations for process improvements including implementation and documentationMaintain and promote a safe, healthy and injury-free environmentRequirements2-5 years of Accounting/Payroll experience requiredAssociates or bachelor's degree in accounting, Business or Human Resources is requiredExperience with Workday Payroll requiredExperience processing Canadian and US, salaried and union payrolls requiredPayroll certification preferredExperience with Kronos system an assetMust be proactive and customer oriented, flexible and reliableMust be proficient with Excel and MS Office SuiteOur total compensation package includes amazing benefitsCompetitive wages and bonus opportunities Family medical, dental, and prescription coverage at minimal employee cost Short and long-term disability programsCompetitive retirement plans Employer-provided and Voluntary Life Insurance options Paid vacation and recognized statutory holidays Apprenticeship and career advancement within the companyTuition reimbursementWhile we thank all those who apply, only those being actively considered for employment will be contacted.Equal Opportunity EmployerOrion Steel Group, is an Equal Opportunity employer.
