Oakville, Canada Farma Greek Market Full time

This position is for anyone with at least some training in the back kitchen. This position is for a position in a Greek restaurant. You will learn to prepare authentic Greek recipes.

**Regular Duties**:

- Assist cooks in preparation where and when needed;
- Responsible for preparing ingredients before cooking, such as chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or cleaning seafood;
- Ensure that food is properly stored and handled at all times by ensuring all temperature records are properly completed;
- Prompt cleaning of any spills or leaks as requested by the culinary team;
- General garbage removal and recycling of cardboard and cans a minimum of once each shift. More often if required;
- Responsible for assisting the cook with the daily preparation of raw products and meat for service ie. Peeled potatoes, carrots, onions, and some meats and fish.
- Responsible for the storage of food, both incoming stock;
- Ensure the kitchen meets sanitation standards as set by the Head Chef and Food safety;
- Daily sweeping and mopping of service coolers and floors.

**Requirements**:

- In-depth knowledge of restaurant best practices and cooking methods.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Aptitude for multi-tasking.
- Must be able to work cooperatively and efficiently in a team.
