**Position Summary**

This position will be located out of Dr. Turner Lodge in Fort Saskatchewan. Dr. Turner Lodge requires an energetic, motivated, customer service-oriented General Service Worker to perform various activities within well-established guidelines of food services and/or housekeeping duties.

The GSW will be responsible for providing consistent high-levels of customer service to all residents, families, visitors, community resources and staff by providing prompt, friendly, efficient and professional service. Project work will be assigned from time to time. Completing daily written documentation is also required.

**Job Duties**
- Perform various tasks as assigned by the Assistant Manager of Operations and/or Chef.
- Responsible for answering the phone and taking telephone messages after 4:30 p.m.
- Deal with and report resident issues as they arise.
- Responsible for appropriate written documentation; incident reports, chronological recording, communication book, and completing maintenance requests.
- Include being familiar with, and complying with, safety rules, regulations, safe work practices, safe job procedures, and all other safety-related issues. Observes and obeys all warning and information signs.
- Reports any injury in a timely manner to the supervisor.
- Reports unsafe acts.
- Keeps work area neat, clean and orderly.
- Follows safe work procedures/practices and the supervisor’s direction.
- Leads by example.

**Position Requirements**
- Must be neatly dressed and well-groomed in a clean and approved company dress code.
- Ability to work in a team environment with mínimal supervision.
- Work with the residents, families, public and staff.
- Stands and walks during shift.
- Reaches, bends, stoops, and wipes.
- Must be able to hear well in a loud environment in order to respond to employee, resident or guest needs.
- Lifts and carries supplies and equipment up to 30 lbs., throughout the entire shift.

**Work Conditions**
- Strenuous physical activity including, but not limited to walking, standing, lifting, and bending.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Pushes, pulls, lifts, equipment, and supplies.

**Hours/Duration**
- Days, evenings or nights, including weekends and holidays
- Casual hours
