Bar Manager

**Job Purpose**:
The role of the Bar Manager is to oversee the efficient operations of the Bar program - ordering and inventory, ensuring a great customer service experience, quality beverages and exceptional training. A skilled and knowledgeable bartender with years of experience, the Bar Manager is leading the restaurant operations to ensure quality control, guest satisfaction, and proper technique. The Bar Manager thrives in a fast-paced environment and knows how to build and maintain great guest relationships. Someone who truly loves cocktails, wine, beer, and other beverages, the individual in this role is always interested in learning more and gathers information from various sources on new and upcoming trends.

**Key Accountabilities**:
Communicate and be an example of Pearle’s core values by demonstrating genuine and thoughtful hospitality in the day-to-day execution of duties.

Act as a mentor to service staff: embody a great service culture and create a high level of service standards and excellence.

Responsible for ordering and inventory of Isabelle in a timely fashion and maintaining an on-hand inventory to par.

Oversee and direct day-to-day operations of the restaurant.

Management of shifts: daily decision making, scheduling, planning, while upholding standards, product quality and cleanliness.

Develop the cocktail list using fresh, seasonal ingredients to create interesting and delicious Bars.

Create and maintain a Bar manual, including detailed recipes and specifications of presentation.

Assist with wine sales during service, making specific recommendations to guests and helping to execute wine service at the table

Organize and hold trainings for all staff on cocktails and the bar program.

Ensure drinks are being prepared in a consistent and timely manner, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic Bars are made according to specified recipes and using the correct glassware and unique consistent garnishes.

Investigate and resolve complaints concerning quality and service.

Operating POS System; End of night reporting; Guest check reporting.

Willingly accept additional tasks as required for the effective functioning of the work unit.

Demonstrate respect and courtesy for all individuals encountered on the job - management, fellow team members, and guests.

**What we would like you to bring to the position**:

- 3+ years' experience in Head Bartender or Bar Manager role within a fast-paced restaurant/venue setting
- Smart Serve Certification
- WHMIS Certification
- WSET or other wine education is an asset
- **Knowledge**: Strong knowledge of wine and Bars.
- **Communication**: Effective communication with restaurant team, other department heads and vendors
- **Adaptability**: Ability to remain poised and professional in a fast paced environment and positively interact with a variety of diverse guests and team members.
- **Personable**: Build strong relationships with guests, getting to know repeat guests and customizing their experience. Build strong working relationships with coworkers - both managers and direct reports.
- **Training and Development**: Effectively host training/information sessions on new cocktails and wines. Ownership in personal training and development - willingness and interest in growing knowledge base.
