**About VEI Dewatering**

**Responsibilities**:

- Proven ability to lead the field implementation of construction dewatering and temporary groundwater control projects, including vacuum wellpoint, eductor pumping and deep well systems
- Work with the dewatering team as needed on project and shop maintenance tasks including supervision and participation in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and diagnosis.
- Take the initiative to identify and implement processes and systems to support and improve the Dewatering Division
- Complete regular inspections of dewatering systems including equipment maintenance and compliance sampling
- Supervise and assist with the drilling, installation, and development of dewatering wellpoints, eductor wells and deep wells and associated systems
- Supervise and participate in the cutting, assembling, installation and removal of piping for dewatering systems
- Troubleshoot dewatering system issues, and repair system, plumbing and equipment issues
- Assist with the mobilization of equipment and materials (load, unload, prep components, operation of material handling equipment) at VEI facility in Kitchener and on project sites
- Work at a variety of different project sites across Ontario
- Train and mentor other field staff on best practices for dewatering services
- Work safely in accordance with VEI workplace health & safety procedures

**Qualifications & Requirements**:

- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a lead role in construction dewatering, temporary groundwater control
- Technical diploma or ticket in trade (well technician, plumbing, drilling, etc.) or equivalent experience in groundwater control
- Training certificates (i.e., First Aid, Working at Heights, Forklift, Skidsteer, Heavy Equipment, HDPE fusion) are an asset
- Mechanical aptitude, and experience with plumbing tools, piping methods, diesel and electric pump operation and maintenance,
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, proposals and work plans
- Ability to communicate and provide project updates in a timely manner with clients, supervisors, project managers
- Prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner
- Problem solving skills
- Valid G driver’s license and insurable

Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 55 per week
