Live in Foster Support Caregiver

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to serve as Live in Foster Support Caregivers. Foster Support Caregivers play a crucial role in providing a safe, nurturing and supportive environment for children and youth who are in the Foster Care system. This rewarding position involves offering stability guidance and love to children who may have experienced trauma or hardship. Foster Support Caregivers are supported by qualified Child and Youth Workers and Community Support Workers.

**Responsibilities**:

- Create a secure and welcoming environment for foster children.
- Ensure the physical and emotional well-being of each child under your care.
- Foster a positive and trusting relationship with each child, recognizing and respecting their unique background and needs.
- Collaborate with caseworkers, biological families, and other professionals involved in the child's life.
- Attend to the daily needs of the children, including meals, clothing, and hygiene.
- Ensure that medical and educational needs are addressed and attended to promptly.
- Encourage and support educational goals and achievements.
- Help foster children develop life skills and provide guidance in various areas of personal development.

**Qualifications**:

- Complete a Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Diploma/Certificate in Community Services/Developmental Services/Child and Youth work
- Attend and successfully complete pre-service training and ongoing training requirements.
- Demonstrate the ability to provide a stable and supportive home environment.
- Possess effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Exhibit empathy, patience, and flexibility.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract

**Salary**: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Night shift
- Weekends as needed
