**Position Summary**

CFSPD is currently seeking a Program Coordinator - Survivor Engagement and Outreach of The Safe Centre of Peel who will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of the Survivor Advisory Network, as well as outreach and community engagement initiatives of the Safe Centre of Peel.

The Program Coordinator - Survivor Engagement and Outreach of The Safe Centre of Peel reports to the Program Manager. This position will be based in the Region of Peel.

**Responsibilities**
- **Survivor Advisory Network**_
- Assist in the development and implementation of the Survivor Advisory Network at the Safe Centre of Peel.
- Recruit, screen, and onboard survivors with lived experience of gender-based violence, ensuring a safe, supportive, and inclusive process that honours their readiness and boundaries.
- Develop and deliver training programs that equip survivor volunteers with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to participate in peer engagement, advocacy, and community education initiatives.
- Foster a trauma-informed environment that promotes psychological safety, empowerment, and meaningful participation for all survivor volunteers.
- Coordinate ongoing support, mentorship, and supervision to ensure survivor volunteers feel valued, supported, and connected throughout their involvement.
- Collaborate with community partners and staff to identify appropriate volunteer roles and co-create opportunities for survivor leadership and contribution.
- Integrate principles of equity, anti-oppression, and lived experience into volunteer engagement strategies and program development.
- Monitor and evaluate volunteer experiences and program impact, using survivor feedback to guide continuous improvement.
- **Community Outreach**_
- Serve as a positive and professional ambassador of the Safe Centre within the community, fostering collaboration with partners through participation in joint projects, initiatives, and events.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with external stakeholders to support information sharing through public speaking engagements, training sessions, and participation in conferences and symposiums.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of public relations and communication strategies that align with program goals and promote community awareness.
- Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of available community resources to support clients and partner agencies.
- Lead the planning, implementation, and documentation of outreach activities to ensure consistent engagement and impact tracking.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to launch new initiatives in collaboration with existing and emerging community partners, including diverse funding bodies.
- Oversee and coordinate the Safe Centre’s social media presence to enhance visibility, engagement, and community connection.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or field related to program area.
- 3 - 5 years of proven experience in community development initiatives.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working as a program coordinator.
- Exceptional organizational skills with ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience in using social media platforms to profile non-profit organizations.
- Strong leadership and motivational skills with demonstrated people management skills.
- Self-starter, able to achieve results with little supervision and work independently.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Demonstrated tact, diplomacy and interpersonal skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to build and maintain positive working relationships and work in a collaborative environment.
- High level of professionalism and drive, with an enthusiasm and passion for delivering results.
- Proven data management and analysis skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft office suite products and expertise in using the internet as a resource tool.
