**Job Title**: Lead Hand - Exterior Works

**Location**: On-Site - Stoney Creek, ON (Travel to various work sites in Southern Ontario required)

**Hours**: Monday to Thursday, 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Fridays 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

**Position Summary**

We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Lead Hand - Exterior Works Labourer to support daily site operations. This full-time, permanent position plays a key role in preparing homes for various stages of construction and ensuring sites are safe, clean, and ready for trades.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead a small crew in performing various exterior construction tasks on new builds and developments
- Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and site plans
- Install building materials including but not limited to exterior cladding, vapor barriers, soffit/fascia, trims, and waterproofing systems
- Ensure quality workmanship and compliance with Ontario Building Code and safety standards
- Operate company vehicles and tow trailers, materials, or equipment to and from job sites
- Coordinate daily tasks and prioritize work according to construction schedules
- Conduct on-site inspections to ensure job readiness and quality control
- Report progress, issues, and material needs to the Exterior Works Manager
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times
- Prepare homes for the next trade (cutting concrete, protecting/scraping floors, snow and straw removal, stripping floors, etc.)
- Operate small to mid-sized excavators and other equipment safely and effectively
- Perform daily site cleanup and debris removal in accordance with waste and recycling guidelines
- Prepare porches, garages, and basements for cement pours
- Cut driveways, coordinate stone orders, and install patio slabs
- Grade homes for masonry work and prepare for inspections
- Locate and dig water boxes; turn on water, raise and mark for sodding
- Ensure availability of temporary heat for interior trades (e.g., tile setters, drywall finishers)
- Liaise with administrators to schedule bin deliveries and exchanges
- Respond to homeowner inquiries and complaints with professionalism
- Perform trench digging and other physically demanding labour tasks
- Take direction and assist with additional tasks as assigned by the Exterior Works Manager
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications & Skills**
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in residential construction
- Experience in high-end residential/commercial landscape design/build
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with the safe operation of excavators, compaction equipment and other power tools
- Valid Class D or AZ License (an asset)
- The ability to work well with others and be able to lead, motivate, instruct, and delegate a crew of 5+ employees.
- Strong understanding of site safety and construction processes
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varied weather year round
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Highly organized with the ability to take initiative and follow direction

**Experience**:

- Residential Construction: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- G License (preferred)
- Ontario A or D License (preferred)
