The purpose of the Student Tutor is to contribute to the academic success of students and to the success of the College in achieving its statement of purpose. Under general supervision, the Student Tutor is responsible for assisting students with assignments, software challenges and understanding course content. They provide tutoring to students, which supplements, but does not replace, their classroom teaching.
**Responsibilities**:
Specifically, the Student Tutor will be responsible for:
- Assisting students with assignments, software challenges and understanding course content
- Supporting the administrative function of the campus to enhance the student experience
- Acting in a manner that upholds the College standards
**Qualifications**
To be successful in the Student Tutor position, individuals must be committed to developing, maintaining and demonstrating the following:
**Education and Experience**:
- Enrollment as a current student at VCAD
- Teaching or tutoring experience is preferred
**Skills and Abilities**:
- Relevant industry skills and knowledge relating to the area of tutoring, including ongoing professional development and continuous improvement.
- Excellent understanding of the relevant academic program.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Strong motivation to help students achieve their academic goals.
