**Specific Accountabilities**:

- Prepare and present classes in both classroom and lab settings;
- Organize and supervise practical assignments;
- Creating a positive teaching and learning environment;
- Preparing lesson plans and providing instruction using a variety of teaching techniques and current technologies that enhance student success;
- Delivering courses in accordance with curriculum standards;
- Preparing, administering, and grading assignments, quizzes, research papers and examinations in a timely manner;
- Monitoring student performance, maintains progress reports and encouraging their success;
- Consulting with colleagues as required;
- Follow the Academic Calendar and other policies and procedures.

**Qualifications**:

- Must possess a Red Seal Trade Certification (C of Q) as a Metal Fabricator (437A) or Welder (456A)
- A Welding Engineering Technology diploma or relevant post-secondary training in the welding and metal fabrication field is preferred
- Must have at least ten years industry related experience utilizing SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, OFW, FCAW, SAW, OAC, PAC, etc. and thermal cutting skills required
- Teaching experience at the post-secondary level would be an asset
