**The role requires 5 days per week hybrid flexibility to work 2 days remote and 3 days onsite. Location Don Valley and Eglinton**

**Duties and Responsibilities**

As an Accountant and Auditor you are both driven and knowledgeable and possess exceptional communication skills and a thorough understanding of all areas of accounting and auditing and the ability to provide expert advice to our clients. In addition, you will build relationships and develop rapport with clients, lead delivery of accounting services and go beyond standard accounting services.

**These include but are not limited to the following**:

- Executing the delivery of accounting advisory engagements under ASPE and IFRS and take ownership of the engagements from start to finish, which will require strong project management skills, including managing client deliverables and expectations.
- Remain current on applicable and evolving financial reporting standards and securities and regulatory requirements and developing accounting/business issues.
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively manage the audit process and develop an audit strategy.
- Assist clients with a broad scope of financial reporting activities, including the preparation of financial statements, preparation of working papers and liaising with the clients’ CFO team.
- Assist clients with evaluating the requirements of accounting, reporting and disclosure standards, preparing supporting analyses, including drafting reports and presentations, and analyzing differences between different accounting frameworks.
- Develop fit-for-purpose solutions through obtaining understanding of clients’ preferences and business constraints.
- Manage the compilation process for various client accounts
- Communicate effectively with clients to better understand their needs and provide exceptional service.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all engagements
- Collaborate with team members to improve processes and efficiency.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of accounting standards and regulations.
- Represent the client to CRA, their bank and other stakeholders.
- Provide coaching development and mentoring to other accounting professionals

**Qualifications**
- Member in good standing as a CPA or equivalent
- 3 plus years of experience working with a public practice accounting firm with a minimum of 2 years experience in auditing
- **Expertise in personal and corporate tax planning preparation**:

- Strong financial accounting skills
- Demonstrated leadership skills including coaching and mentorship is required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
- Solid knowledge and understanding of full cycle accounting, financial statements, budgeting/forecasting, year-end functions
- Proficiency with common accounting software packages.
- **Proficiency in Caseware, Tax Prep, Outlook, Word and Excel.**:

- Ability to analyze and define business problems, to identify operational or process solutions
- Ability to organize time and juggle multiple urgent priorities
- Ability to adapt to change and the ability to work autonomously and as a part of a team
- Exceptional interpersonal skills combined with a positive can-do attitude with a focus on client service
- Strong verbal and written communication skills along with excellent documentation skills
- Passion for process and continuous improvement to support various projects and initiatives
- Proficiency in taxes and experience preparing
