**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Adhere to the highest level of quality and service for our members and guests
- Lead in the kitchen and actively participates in the creative and innovative processes of expanding the culture of the culinary team
- Assist in the production and service of all food items for a la carte and/or buffet menus according to TCC recipes and standards.
- Promote a productive and disciplined work environment that recognizes the results of teamwork and talent development
- Meet regularly with catering sales and their clients to talk about special requests or wedding cakes
- Maintaining the highest level of cleanliness and organization of the pastry shop along with proper storage and rotation of all food products
- Work closely with the kitchen leadership team in the training of culinary apprentices, takes an active role in mentoring and coaching of the culinary team
- Maintain knowledge and proficiency of current trends and put these ideas into practice, engaging the pastry team to stay on top of new ideas
- Responsible for pastry shop inventory management, productivity and waste minimization
- Prepare a variety of cakes, cookies, breads, pastries, custards, and chocolates
- Set up dessert buffets and plated dessert functions to TCC standards.
- Prepare and handle basic or specialized chocolate work, creative cake decoration and sauces including fruit purees, creams, compotes, and jellies
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, able to work under multiple deadlines in a fast paced, high volume environment
- Maintain food safety standards
- Perform other duties as required

**REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**
- Diploma or certificate in pastry and baking arts required
- Works well under pressure in a high paced, full-service kitchen environment
- Self-motivated and able to complete tasks in an organized and timely manner with little or no supervision
- Ability to work hospitality schedule (including early mornings/late nights/weekends/holidays)
- 2 or more years’ experience in a similar kitchen environment strongly encouraged
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lb
- Valid food safe certification required
