**Summary**
We are seeking an Operator to join our dynamic team at Ampersand Printing. In this role, you will play a vital part in our production process, ensuring that our printing and marketing services are executed efficiently and effectively. Your contributions will directly impact our ability to deliver high-quality results for our clients.
**Responsibilities**
- **File Preparation, Manipulation and Correction**: Checking client-supplied files for completeness and print readiness. Adjusting and optimizing digital files for optimal print quality. T
- **Trapping and Imposition**: Techniques used to prevent misregistration during printing and to arrange pages on a press sheet for efficient printing and finishing.
- **Proofing and Platemaking**: Generating digital or hard copy proofs for client review and approval. Responsible for transferring the final digital image onto printing plates.
- **Troubleshooting**: Identifying and resolving file issues, color problems, and other technical challenges that may arise during the prepress process.
- **Equipment Operation and Maintenance**: Operating and performing minor maintenance on prepress equipment.
- **Quality Control**:Thoroughly reviewing all materials to ensure high quality and adherence to specifications.
**Requirements**:
- **Strong computer literacy and expertise in prepress/ graphic design software**: _Experience with Prinergy is required_; experience with Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop are preferred.
- **Attention to detail and accuracy**: Critical for identifying errors and ensuring precise output.
- **Color perception and management**: A strong understanding of color theory and the ability to work with color profiles for accurate reproduction is preferred.
- **Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills**: The ability to diagnose and fix technical issues with files and equipment is preferred.
- **Knowledge of printing processes**:Understanding different printing methods (offset, digital, flexographic, etc.) and their specific prepress requirements.
- _Experience with or interest in learning e-wide format printing and finishing as well as using a Computerized Zund cutting table is strongly preferred_
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
