Cable Technician

Mack Construction Services Ltd. is a turnkey utility construction company. We provide horizontal directional drilling, hydrovac, excavating, and many other services in the telecom, utility and pipeline industry. We are looking for energetic and self-motivated individuals with a great attitude, who have experience with telecom construction.
At MACK, you will work with safe, dedicated, and experienced teams committed to meeting client deadlines while upholding the highest of safety and quality standards.
**Responsibilities**:
- Splice and test fibre optic cabling
- Data installation/activation maintenance & service
- Troubleshoot and analyze basic issues or technical problems
- Ability to read and interpret maps, drawings, blueprints, and testing docs
- Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation on all work orders
- Complete safety documentation and adhere to all applicable health and safety requirements
- Pull/prepare/place underground cables in existing conduit systems
- Confidently build new FOSC's as well as entering existing facilities
**Qualifications**:
- Experience as a Fibre Optic Splicer/Tester and/or Copper/Fibre Installation/Activation (ribbon and loose tube fibre splicing, copper)
- Ability to read and understand customer supplied drawings
- Understanding of safety procedures when working in or around confined spaces
- Must hold a valid Confined Space ticket
- Must hold a valid Standard First Aid ticket
- Must hold CSTS ticket
- Previous experience in cable placing
- Physically able to perform job and work in all weather conditions
- Must have a clean drivers abstract, air brakes/class 1/class 3 an asset
- Copper splicing experience an asset
- CFOT designation is an asset

**Salary**: $25.00-$36.00 per hour
