Job Summary

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in networking, low-voltage wiring, and field system setup, ensuring reliability and innovation in every project. As a Smart Systems Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of smart yard and fence systems, integrating modern IoT devices such as sensors, cameras, Wi-Fi routers, and lighting automation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and test IoT and smart-system devices, including sensors, cameras, controllers, Wi-Fi routers, and intrusion-detection solar lights.
  • Connect smart devices to networks and mobile applications, ensuring proper integration and performance.
  • Perform network configuration, signal testing, and troubleshooting for connectivity issues.
  • Support the setup of low-voltage wiring and cable routing within fence, deck, and yard systems.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of device settings, configurations, and maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to perform system updates and remote diagnostics.
  • Work with construction teams to integrate smart technologies into outdoor installations such as fences and decks.
  • Ensure all smart devices and systems comply with company cybersecurity and privacy standards.
  • Research and recommend new technologies and components to improve smart yard solutions.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment at project sites.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Computer Networking, Electronics, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience with IoT device setup, smart home systems, or low-voltage installation.
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, Wi-Fi configuration, and mobile app integration.
  • Familiarity with CCTV / security camera systems, sensors, and automation controllers.
  • Basic understanding of construction practices and electrical safety standards.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Fluency in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese (both written and spoken) is required to support multicultural staff and clients.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to work sites in the Regina area.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $34.16-$41.91 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
