Key Requirements
- Must be able to work rotating shift schedules
- Must be able to commute to Bolton
- Outcome:_
- a. All non-conformances contained and would not escape out of assigned area
b. No stoppages in constraint areas
c. Andons and are managed with speed and effectiveness (containment, root cause analysis, trigger of corrective action)
d. Provide leaders with access to quality data and expertise to support their initiatives
Mission_:

a. Ensure compliance to defined QMS processes, ISO 9001 and Machinery Directive standards
b. Ensure quality of assigned area(s) are managed with excellence
Main Responsibilities:_
- o Coordinate & take charge of Andon activities
o Develop and maintain Control Plan and ensure effectiveness of control plan use
o Non-Conformance (NC) investigation, creation, support and containment
o Perform product audit to ensure product leaving the area meets all requirements
o Participate in Clinic activities and help close the loop on issues
o Owner of assigned Quality Processes (examples include but not limited to: 5S, Gauge Calibration, Inspection Records, Secondary Verification, etc.)
o Report out on key quality metrics including cost
o Provide general business support as needed (examples include but not limited to: support Assembly with documentation, weekend support)
o Promote a culture of quality
- Secondary Responsibilities:

- Executes and assures compliance with quality procedures, practices and inspection processes
- Writes and maintains quality procedures and practices and has a working knowledge of statistical problem-solving tools
- Evaluates hardware, performs laboratory procedures, inspects products, measures process performance, records data, and prepares formal reports
- Supports and conducts measurement systems analysis with the use of gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (R&R) studies
- Supports process capability analysis, short run Statistical Process Control (SPC) and process monitoring for continual improvement
- Trains manufacturing team members in quality requirements, inspection and test practices
- Trains other quality technicians or students as required

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

- Hands-on and assertive
- Analyze a situation and solves problems effectively
- Communicate tactfully and effectively about why a decision is made
- Hold your ground when necessary in front of other more senior team members and team leaders
- Must have an open mind and willingness to learn and try new things
- Strong ability to prioritize your time and handle stressful situations

QUALIFICATIONS:

- High school and/or post-secondary education in mechanics, hydraulics and/or electrical studies
- 3-5 years relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to prepare and read inspection control plans, interpreting specifications, drawings, BOM, standards
- Proven advanced knowledge in inspection standards and skills
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics
- Understanding of inspection with GD&T (ASME Y14.5M-1994)
- Working knowledge of gauges (mechanical, electrical, etc.) used in the quality process and calibration procedures
- Available to work a variety of shifts to support business needs
- Knowledge of incoming, in process, final, first article inspection, auditing and sampling plans
- Skills in basic quality know-how (examples include but not limited to: control charts, trigonometry and control plan)
- Certification as a Quality Technician (CQT) or Mechanical Inspector (CMI), or agreed on Professional Development Plan to achieve certification is preferred
- Ability to conduct Measurement Systems Analysis (Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility) is preferred
