Evening Veterinary Assistant

**Duties**
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures by holding animals and providing necessary support.
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring they are clean, organized, and stocked with supplies.
- Perform laboratory tasks such as collecting samples, running tests, and maintaining accurate records.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals in our care, reporting any concerns to the veterinarian.
- Provide clients with information on animal care, treatment plans, and post-operative instructions.
- Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the veterinarian.
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment, placing orders as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and sanitation standards within the clinic.
**Requirements**:
- Previous experience as a veterinary assistant or in a related field is preferred
- Strong interest in animal care and welfare.
- Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures is highly desirable.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
- Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends if necessary.
**Schedule**:
- **Weekday shifts**: 2:00 PM - 12:00 AM or 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM
- **Weekend shifts**:
- Saturday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM
- Sunday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
