**_Position Type_**: Full-time**

Nanak Foods is the largest federally approved Indian dairy in North America specializing in Indian dairy & food products. We are a Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and European Union (EU) approved facility.

As a dynamic learning organization, Nanak is looking for a R&D and QA Associate who is passionate to learn and is ready to grow with the company in the long run. Our new a R&D and QA Associate will report directly to the Director of Research and development and Quality Assurance.

**Job responsibilities**
- Ability to formulate new and existing products to meet the objectives for sensory and nutritional attributes, quality and timeline
- Perform literature research and bench test of product development, to resolve technical issues related to food safety, food stability, shelf-life, scalability, nutritional and ingredient guidelines, etc.
- Analytical science knowledge to understand and highlight the cause and effect of product/ ingredient/ process changes and identify effective solutions
- Evaluate and propose alternate ingredients that may be used in existing products, which can lead to better processing
- Maintain a detailed record of the product formulations, process parameters, sensory reports and finished product results
- Monitor and provide technical and troubleshooting assistance to production staff on first production run, and on subsequent runs if required
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe R&D Kitchen/ lab
- Ensure that food safety and quality assurance programs are properly implemented and maintained by following regulatory guidelines
- Translate and incorporate good manufacturing practices (GMP) into operational practice
- Perform food safety and quality critical control point checks on processing lines as outlined in the HACCP and Quality Program requirements
- Present a professional and respectful attitude when dealing with both internal and external contacts, and work towards facilitating a team atmosphere within the company

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**:

- 2 years or more experience in a food processing environment preferred
- Ability to work in team setting or independently with minimum supervision
- Good analytical and logical problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational and computing skills. Good verbal and written communication skills
