**Our client has an urgent requirement for a Management Consultant (Data Partnerships)**

Management Consultant (Data Partnerships)

The Data Unit requires support in order to deliver on data strategy roadmap items. The resource will be required to:
Build and maintain strong relationships and partnerships through consultation and collaboration with departments and external stakeholders;
Identify potential data initiatives to help solve business problems;
Identify strategic partners and facilitate the establishment of appropriate business relationships;
Participate in the assessment and prioritization of data initiatives;
Consult with stakeholders (internal and external) to assess high-level business requirements and in consultation with Data Product Advisors and Data Product Delivery teams suggest potential solutions;
Support the development of data products with a sound understanding of business and industry demands while adhering to data legislation, privacy and security requirements;
Manage and respond to internal stakeholder requests;
Coordinate the identification and management of intake/requests;
Collaborate with the Product Management and Partnerships team to identify and bring forward synergies in requests;
Contribute to the development and implementation of a communication strategy to ensure a thorough awareness and understanding of the Data Strategy and thorough, thoughtful and consistent communication is delivered to stakeholders;
Promote the use of the Open Government Portal, and the access to data and information; and

Provide support by collecting and compiling information from external stakeholders, departments, and Service Alberta teams.

Maintain engagement, meeting, and opportunity trackers.

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES

Can span activities related to information management and technology strategic planning, project definition, program communication, providing leadership to project teams, facilitating strategic partnerships with external stakeholders, conducting business process reengineering activities and facilitating executive discussions on strategic matters.

Works with Senior and Executive Management in the Ministry to:
Identify and advance information management and technology strategies that advance and/or support our core business in strategic areas.

Facilitate collaboration of public sector, private industry, and other partners to identify and advance opportunities to improve existing services and/or identify, develop and advance opportunities for new and innovative information management and technology related services.

Facilitate and manage the challenges associated with innovation and change.

**MANDATORY SKILLS**
- Resource must meet/exceed 1 of the following: (8+ years)
- Degree in Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Management or related discipline and 4yrs related experience OR
- 2yr diploma in Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Management or related discipline and 6yrs related experience OR
- 1yr certificate in related discipline and 7yrs related experience OR
- 8yr related experience
- Experience building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders (5+ years)
- Experience facilitating/leading workshops and strategic conversations (5+ years)
- Experience facilitating one-on-one and group presentation and facilitation skills (5+ years)
- Experience working with minimum mentoring (5+ years)
- Experience conducting information searches and research and completing assessments with information gathered (5+ years)
- Resource must have own computer equipment and be comfortable using it for completion of work required by this contract
- Available for onsite meetings with clients and technical teams located in Edmonton as required

**DESIRABLE / NICE TO HAVE SKILLS**
- DAMA Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)
- Business Relationship Management Professional (BRMP)
- Experience identifying stakeholders and effectively identifying and following up on potential opportunities (5+ years)
- Experience with business writing, communication and documentation (5+ years)
- Experience with the development of communication plans (5+ years)
- Experience working in or for the public sector (2+ years)
- Experience with data and information management concepts, privacy, and security issues relating to FOIP (5+ years)

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
