The Dispatcher is responsible for dispatching local units to pick up and deliver freight while monitoring the performance of drivers to customer pick up & delivery expectations.

**Shifts**:

- 6:00am - 2:30pm
- 2:30pm - 11:00pm

**How You’ll Help**
- Execute on the TL plan making necessary adjustments and utilize cartage as needed
- Build relationships with Carrier Procurement and outside carriers
- Load planning and updating TruckMate and related systems in a timely fashion
- Communication from drivers and customers and outside carriers.
- Communicate available capacity when applicable and fill trucks and reduce empty miles
- Review yard check to ensure freight is not missed and trucks are on schedule
- Manage trailer pools inconjunction with Terminal Operations, at company shared yards, and at customer locations
- Coordinate drivers to make service commitments and maximize driver revenue / mitigate costs
- Monitor driver performance and report findings to TL Operations Manager
- Identify areas for improvement and efficiencies (operational and systematic)
- Exception queue management
- Work with LTL P&D Dispatch to minimize costs within the shared space for both deliveries and pick ups
- Be responsible for TL CICO (check in, check out) processes to ensure all paperwork is imaged and POD captured and paperwork is completed correctly
- Work with drivers to monitor and coach for higher compliance to Bringg and PeopleNet where applicable
- Facilitate border crossing / shunt movement to and from US terminal

**Your Skills & Experience**:

- Minimum of secondary education, with preference of post-secondary education (Supply Chain or Logistics Management or a combination of education and experience.
- Previous Transportation or operational experience is preferred, various roles within transportation would be beneficial. New graduates or current students are welcome.
- Communication skills - advanced
- Computer skills - accuracy, MS products, Bringg, web based programs such as TruckMate
- Demonstrated customer relationship skills
- Able to work deadlines in high transactional environment
- Ability to champion business needs in a collaborative manner to colleagues
- Strong sense of urgency and ability to respond to demands in a calm manner.
- Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills to manage demands and resolve issues with drivers, co-workers, etc.
- Ability to work independently; a self-starter
- Strong problem solving skills with the ability to implement proactive solutions to support operational demands and efficiencies.
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule
- Results focused
