Cedar Fair is seeking an
**Area Manager of Group Events** at our
**Canada's Wonderland** location. This positions produces, manages, and supervises the execution of all Group Sales events including corporate meetings, catered events, youth programs and park rentals. Acts as the park liaison between the client, the account executive and require internal stakeholders. Assists with sales support by performing related administrative, supervisory, and other duties as assigned.
**Responsibilities**:
- Leads client, sales staff and park department collaboration ensuring event arrangements are carried out. Effectively manages event execution by making day of event decisions, supporting, and supervising department staff and resolving any client issues or requests.
- Creates, organizes, maintains, and distributes all internal documents related to Group Sales Events including but not limited to ticket orders, contracts, Facility Booking Reports (FBR) and Banquet Event Orders (BEO).
- Assists in the reconciliation of account balances ensuring any and all catering invoices are correct prior to the client’s receipt.
- Attends Group Sales Meetings and Events as required. Participates in park task force meeting as requested and serves as Marketing/Sales Duty Manager as scheduled.
- Tracks and analyzes report of catering and group sales events and uses them to develop and recommend improvements and changes including operational processes, menu selection and guest experience.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/ GED Required
- Associate's degree / vocational or technical school degree preferred in Sales, Tourism, Hospitality, Event Management
- 2-4 years work-related experience required.
- Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
- Must possess a valid Driver's License.
