We are committed to cultivating an equitable and inclusive environment where students, faculty and staff feel valued and empowered to succeed. **Responsibilities**: - The Summer Student 2 (Marketing Communications Intern) will provide higher level support in a broad range of communications and marketing initiatives withing Western's Faculty of Law with a goal of building and promoting Western Law's brand and reputation locally, nationally, and internationally. Supported by the Communications Officer, the Marketing Communications Intern will also contribute to the department's marketing communications plans including content planning and evaluation. The incumbent will be responsible for effectively carrying out a variety of tasks in accordance with policies, procedures, and instructions received from their supervisor. The incumbent will take guidance from their supervisor, and work productively and courteously with their work team and other members of the Western community. **Qualifications**: **Education**: - Must be a current student in one of the following programs who is eligible for a practicum / internship: - Western Continuing Studies Diploma in Marketing - Western Continuing Studies Diploma in Public Relations - Western Arts and Humanities - Western School for Advanced Studies in the Arts & Humanities **Experience**: - Storytelling, copywriting and editing - Social media strategy and content creation - Graphic design principles and execution (Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite) - Photography and/or videography - Experience with website CMS platforms and working knowledge of HTML (Cascade or similar) - Familiarity with digital marketing analytics reporting and analysis Skills, Abilities & Expertise: - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy - Strong project management capabilities and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Proven ability to work with technology and learn new programs as required - Demonstrated strong interpersonal and interview skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team **Why Western?**: Consideration of applicants will include an assessment of previous performance, experience, and qualifications.
