**Maintenance Manager**

As a Maintenance Manager at Signature Culinary Solutions, you will oversee all installation, repair, and upkeep of the food manufacturing facilities. You will ensure that the facility and production environment is safe, compliant with company standards and food safety regulations, and operating efficiently. The Maintenance Manager will also be responsible for assessing current machines and equipment, recommending improvements, and purchasing new machinery to enhance production capabilities and efficiency. A solid understanding of the unique challenges in food manufacturing, including sanitation standards and equipment specific to food production, is essential.

**Key responsibilities**:
**Maintenance planning & Management**:

- Develop and implement maintenance procedures and schedules to ensure mínimal downtime, effective productivity and maintenance presence in the production process.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and address maintenance needs, focusing on compliance with company and food safety standards.
- Plan and oversee all repair and installations activities within the facilities, ensuring they align with production schedules to minimize disruption.

**Team leadership**:

- Supervise and lead the maintenance team, providing training and support to ensure efficient and safe operations.
- Monitor and manage maintenance budgets, ensuring cost effective solutions without compromising safety and quality.
- Establish and maintain relationships with contractors and service providers, negotiating contracts and overseeing their work.
- Cooperate with production, quality and other departments to ensure smooth operations within the facilities.
- Hire and train new recruits within the department.

**Operational Efficiency**:

- Maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring timely replenishment.
- Maintain a system for tracking work orders, equipment history and maintenance activities.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency.
- Reporting to the upper management on maintenance status, needs, inventory, budget and improvement.

**Technical Tasks**:

- Plan and conduct regular maintenance and emergency repairs on variety of food manufacturing machines and equipments, including mixers, convection ovens, thermoform machines, conveyors, packaging machines, cooling units, blast freezers and others.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health, safety and food safety regulations.
- Coordinate and perform preventive maintenance on machinery to prevent unplanned downtime and extend equipment life.

**Equipment Improvement and procurement**:

- Evaluate current equipment performance and recommend upgrades or replacements to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Research, select and purchase new machinery that aligns with the company’s goals and budget.
- Oversee the installation and commissioning of new equipment, ensuring it needs all operational and safety standards.
- Collaborate with the production teams to assess equipment needs and integrate new technologies into the production process.

**Required skills and Qualifications**:

- Proven experience as a maintenance manager in a food manufacturing environment. Or a supervisory position for at least 4 years.
- In depth knowledge of food manufacturing equipment, maintenance procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Electro-mechanical engineering or a related field is an advantage.

**Working Conditions**:

- Full time position.
- May require on-call duty and the ability to respond to emergency situations.
- Work involves physical activity, exposure to manufacturing noise and working in cold conditions.
