**Responsibilities**:
- Manage financial statement audits and reviews in accordance with Canadian auditing standards and IFRS.
- Perform risk assessments and develop audit plans to ensure the effectiveness of audit procedures performed.
- Prepare and review financial statements, including notes, to comply with IFRS primarily and other relevant reporting frameworks.
- Provide technical accounting guidance to clients and internal teams on complex accounting issues.
- Stay updated on emerging accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends, and effectively communicate their impact to internal and external groups.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions that address clients' business and financial needs.
- Maintain strong client relationships through effective communication, exceptional service, and timely delivery of high-quality work.
- Participate in the training and development of junior staff, offering guidance and support to foster their professional growth and technical skill development.
- Assist in business development activities, including assisting with the preparation of audit engagement bids on new work, client presentations, and identifying opportunities for growth within existing client accounts.
- Sit on firm Assurance committee.
**Qualifications**:
- Canadian CPA designation is mandatory.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a public practice accounting firm, with a focus on IFRS/ASPE and financial statement audits.
- Thorough knowledge of Canadian auditing standards, IFRS, ASPE, and other relevant accounting frameworks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and provide sound recommendations.
- Excellent understanding of risk assessment and internal control concepts.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and financial reporting tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
