Boost CPA is a modern, fully remote accounting firm that functions as the outsourced accounting department for small and medium-sized businesses across Canada. Our clients rely on us for controllership, bookkeeping oversight, CFO-level advisory, and business tax. We are not a traditional compliance-only firm—we are a partner in our clients' operations, growth, and decision-making.

We work with companies across construction, hospitality, trades, renewable energy, retail, professional services, and more. Most of our clients have never had access to a real finance team, and part of our mission is to show them what high-quality accounting support looks like when it feels like an in-house department rather than an external vendor.

The Role

As our Controller, you will take ownership of the controllership function for a portfolio of clients. You will work closely with the firm owner and our bookkeeping team to ensure smooth month-end cycles and strong financial reporting.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing monthly bookkeeping for accuracy and completeness
  • Bank, credit card, AP, AR, and loan reconciliations
  • Payroll review and approval workflows
  • GST/PST/payroll remittances and filings
  • Troubleshooting QBO and app integrations
  • Monthly financial statements and variance analysis
  • Preparing management reports and insights for clients
  • Supporting advisory and planning engagements

Who You Are
