Volunteer at The black Artists' Creative Expo

Here at **Ogo Tawa Inc., **we are excited to announce the upcoming Black Artrepreneur Expo, taking place on December 6th, 2024 in the Scarborough, ON area, near Warden and Lawrence from 5pm to 10pm. This in-person event will be a celebration of Black artists and entrepreneurs, showcasing their incredible talents and unique creations.

To ensure the success of this inspiring event, we are seeking dedicated volunteers to join our team. Your support would be invaluable in helping us create a vibrant and empowering experience for all attendees.

If you are passionate about art, entrepreneurship, and community, we would love to have you on board. Volunteering at the expo will provide you with an opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to a meaningful cause.

**Requirements**:
1.Experience with volunteering

2.Criminal reference check available to be provided

3.Strong Organizational Skills: Efficiently manage tasks and coordinate event details.

4.Effective Communication: Clearly convey information to team members and attendees.

5.Exceptional Customer Service: Engage and assist attendees with a friendly approach.

6.Attention to Detail: Maintain accuracy in registration, documentation, and event standards.

7.Problem-Solving Skills: Address and resolve issues quickly and resourcefully.

8.Technical Aptitude: Proficiency in typing, using the internet and QR code scanning by phone; skilled with MS Office and Google Suite

9.Time Management: Help to keep the event on schedule and manage time efficiently.

10.Creativity and Aesthetic Sense: Design and arrange event decor attractively.

11.Teamwork and Collaboration: Work well with others during setup, operations, and cleanup

**We are seeking volunteers that can help with the following**:
**Registration and Guest Services**:
**Registration Desk**:Welcome attendees, check them in, and distribute name tags or event materials.
**Greeters and Ushers**:Direct guests to the registration area, presentation space, and seating. Answer any questions and assist with navigation.

**Presentation Support**
**Speaker Liaison**:Assist presenters with their needs, such as setting up slides, managing time, and providing water or materials.
**Timekeeper**: Keep track of presentation times, signaling to presenters when they need to wrap up.

**Food and Beverage Management**:
**Catering Coordination**:Work with the catering team to ensure food and beverages are set up, replenished, and presented attractively.
**Food Servers**:Assist in serving food, keeping the area tidy, and addressing any guest dietary needs or preferences.
**Beverage Attendants**:Serve drinks and manage beverage stations, ensuring all options are available and well-stocked.

**Logistics and Setup**:
**Setup Crew**:Arrange seating, tables, and presentation equipment. Set up the registration area, food stations, and any signage.
**Decor Team**: Handle event decor, ensuring the space is welcoming and matches the event’s theme or branding.
**Documentation**: Assist with organizing documentation for easy usage by necessary individuals
**Cleanup Crew**: Manage post-event cleanup, including packing up materials, disposing of trash, and ensuring the venue is left in good condition.

**Post-Event Follow-Up**:
**Survey Distribution**:Assist in distributing and collecting post-event surveys to gather feedback from attendees.

**Seeking Volunteers that can commit to the following availability**: 4.30 pm -10pm, Friday, December 6th, 2024, in person Warden and Lawrence location

November 28th - 9-5pm, 2024 - Virtual Orientation

December 3rd - 9-5pm, 2024 - Virtual Support
