**Overview**:
The International New & Social Media Officer plays a key role in helping Lakehead University International meet its enrolment goals. This position focuses on promoting the Lakehead brand globally through strategic digital engagement. The officer will create and manage content across social and digital platforms, communicate with students and partners, and adapt strategies for changing platforms and international markets.

**Responsibilities**:
The International New & Social Media Officer will be responsible for the following key areas of International Enrolment:

International Social Media & Engagement:

- Oversee Lakehead University International Enrolment's social media channels, research emerging platforms globally, and support social media initiatives in specific international markets.
- Manage an annual digital content schedule; create, publish, and moderate content.
- Track engagement and analytics, adjusting digital content strategies accordingly.
- Create or edit visual assets for social media using Photoshop or other software as necessary.
Web & Digital Communications:

- Ensure International website content is current, user-friendly, and intuitive.
- Through competitor analysis, develop improvements to, and refine the international user experience on the Lakehead University International website.
- Assist with SEO, develop digital ad landing pages, and content for agent portals.
- Manage the International webinar program; create plans for the delivery of international webinars and live events for prospective students; technical oversight and monitoring of live digital events.
Digital Asset Development & Positioning:

- Help maintain the photo and video library; capture and edit content.
- Coordinate student stories, student-generated digital content, and support the Global Ambassador Program.
- Adapt print materials for digital use and design promotional assets using Adobe Creative Suite and other software.
Reporting & Admin Support:

- Analyze ad, social media, and website performance; manage ad budgets.
- Help manage prospective student databases and communication lists.
- Provide support for international recruitment teams and agents.
- Handle student and agent inquiries, assist with CRM data input, and support recruitment activities.

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary education in media, marketing, or related field.
- 2-3 years’ experience in digital media, with international social media familiarity.
- Excellent written and oral communication; superior editing skills.
- A diplomatic and culturally sensitive approach.
- Proven success in running digital campaigns with measurable outcomes.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Google Drive apps, and MS Office (especially Excel, Word).
- Skills in webinar production, photography, video editing.
- Budget management experience and solid design fundamentals.

A valid Ontario driver's license and a willingness and ability to travel on university business and be available for flexible work hours, sometimes involving evenings and weekends during key periods of the recruitment and conversion cycle, is required. The incumbent must be comfortable travelling far distances, with the ability to be adaptive and make decisions relating to the unpredictable nature of international travel.
