**PART TIME Cook required for Long Term Care home**

Preference will be given to individuals who are certified or currently enrolled in Culinary Management, Red Seal, or Cook 1&2 from a recognized institution; and/or have successfully completed their Food Handlers Certificate from Public Health Unit and is current; Covid Vaccination. Police check and TB testing required.
- **_DUTIES _**include: Prepping and preparing all meal items as outlined in 3 week cyclic menu, including texture modifications - general sanitation of cooks area
- garbage removal, light sweeping/mopping; receiving and putting away food deliveries,
- Must be able to read, write and accurately follow written and verbal instructions.
- Must have reliable transportation (no public offered)
- Must demonstrate proper food preparation and presentation for a variety of cultural preferences.
- Must be knowledgeable about the Long-Term Care Act
- Must be knowledgeable of special, therapeutic, and texture modified diets
- Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand for majority of shift.
- Must be able to work accurately, quickly, and safely.
- Must be an effective team player that works well with others.
- Must be able to work and communicate effectively

Looking to hire as soon as possible

Shifts are blend of 2:30am-2:30pm and/or 10am-6pm, plus call ins for sick/vacation, etc; every other weekend off;
Union Benefits and Pension if the criteria is met

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 22.5-30 per week

**Salary**: $19.92-$20.55 per hour

Supplemental pay types:

COVID-19 considerations:
All persons entering home must have 3 doses of vaccination and are screened upon entry. Rapid antigen testing done on site. Frequent sanitation of high touch surface areas; and all protective equipment supplied if necessary.

**Experience**:

- Large Production Cooking: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Public Health Food Handler Certificate (required)
- Cook/Culinary Management/Red Seal papers (any) (required)
