**About the Job**:
**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Regular handling and care of livestock animals/knowledge and/or experience with large animals
- Physical range and capability to support with regular strenuous activity/fitness
- Familiarity with rural settings/farms/horticulture
- Focusing on group activity and facilitation
- Group program curriculum development
- Creative minded
- Ability to support clients with expressing themselves creatively
- Comfort with facilitating groups independently and as a team
- Flexibility with supporting clients in the community
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, support services, and conflict resolution
- Provide individualized goal assessment, supportive counselling, and crisis planning as appropriate
- Provide crisis prevention and intervention as necessary
- Understand and be able to integrate a philosophy of client-centered care into daily responsibilities.
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to quality care and service delivery based on SHIP’s Mission and Values
- Ensure appropriate records are kept and make sure that statistical information is maintained as per agency standards

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Health Services, Social Services, or equivalent
- 3+ years’ experience with Mental Health Crisis Management and/or Schizophrenia
- 3+ years’ experience with creating and running psychosocial rehabilitation programming.
- 3+ years’ Experience with community programming and interactions with external and internal partners.
- Ability to be comfortable in a rural setting which may include interaction with large animals.
- Familiarity with large animals and horticulture is an asset.
- Background in rec therapy considered an asset
- Knowledge and commitment to the values of psychosocial rehabilitation and recovery
- Experience or training with Mental Health assessment and treatment
- Experience working with clients with mental illness while collaborating with partners and other community resources
- Individual and group counselling skills
- Excellent assessment, risk management, and consultation skills
- A valid Ontario Class “G” Driver’s license and a vehicle with adequate insurance coverage is required
- Valid certification in CPI, CPR, First Aid, and ASIST
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to communicate with a highly diverse range of individuals of varying levels of education, professions, and personal life experiences from a broad range of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Able to work respectfully with different cultures and differing perspectives

**Reporting Function**:
The CMHC Green Spaces, will report directly to the Program Manager. They will work with both internal and external partners and will interact with all levels within the organization. They will have no supervisory responsibilities.

They will be a support system, resource, and an advocator for the team and Company.

**Working Conditions and Physical Requirements**:

- Average amount of physical effort is required.
- Requires the ability to handle light and moderate weight objects including farming equipment and other supplies
- Frequent sitting and/or standing for prolonged periods of time
- Shift times: MON-FRI 11AM-7PM
