**JOB DESCRIPTION**: Oliver House provides 24-hour supportive care to people with mental health issues primarily schizophrenia. Oliver House is seeking an individual to assume the role of overnights. As one of our valued front-line workers in our Residential Group Home. You will work directly with Individuals with diverse mental health needs by assisting with medications. Oliver House supports Individuals who range from lower-level needs to complex behavioural needs in higher stressed environments. Oliver House is a CHO (community housing opportunity) run in partnership with SHIP which has a wide range of community services in the Caledon village area. **DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**: The main responsibilities of weekend overnights (Thursday and Friday overnights 5 pm-9 am) **PM Awake hours 5 pm - 11 am** **Sleeping hours 11 am-7 am** **AM Awake hours 7 am-9 am** **Complete night shift change with departing front-line staff** - You will be responsible for all aspects of client care including assisting 52 residents with their medication protocol at mealtimes. - Answering the telephone and taking accurate and detailed messages. - Assisting residents who leave over the weekend and making sure they are signed out in our logbook and proper medication is given. - Prepare incident reports when needed - Attend to emotional & physical needs of residents when necessary - Assist in 8 pm snack and 8 am breakfast - Report any emergencies to the "on-call" supervisor - Familiarize yourself with the list of emergency/crisis procedures posted and listed in the Procedures binder. **PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**: - A Police Vulnerable Sector Check is also required. - Good communication skills; - Prior experience working with mental illness, knowledge regarding schizophrenia, & addictions preferred - Knowledge of crisis intervention **Job Type**: Full-time 3 overnights a week hours are 5 pm-9 am (sleeping during the hours of 11 pm and 8 am) **Salary**: $17+ **Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time **Salary**: $17.00 per year Schedule: - Night shift - Weekend availability COVID-19 considerations: To keep staff safe we follow public health guidelines with universal masking and face shield. We do rapid antigen test on site, temperature checks and COVID screening before each shifts. We ask for staff to be fully vaccinated.
