**What You Will Do**
- Investigate and effectively resolve payroll and benefit issues, discrepancies, and employee concerns to support the team of payroll specialists.
- Provide guidance, direction, and offer assistance to the team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
- Set clear performance expectations and goals for the team, monitoring progress and providing regular feedback.
- Optimize and maintain payroll software systems (Ceridian/Dayforce) and payroll processes in conjunction with the Payroll team for enhanced efficiency and accuracy.
- Oversee year-end payroll activities and accurate administration of RRSP deductions and other entitlements.
- Maintaining a high degree of confidentiality relative to personal data, compensation data, and employee benefits information.
- Assisting Accounting with the preparation of payroll accrual entries for month-end and year-end.
- Supporting all internal and external audit requirements.
- Assisting Payroll team with month-end, quarter-end and year-end reporting, balancing, and data requests.
- Using knowledge of various government(s) payroll legislation, and Company Policies to ensure payroll is prepared in compliance with all applicable policies/laws.
- Make recommendations for implementation of approaches that will improve efficiency.
- Ensuring timely and accurate preparation of payment requests for Manulife Benefit Premiums, WCB/WISB Premiums, EHT, and other payroll-related payments, as required.
- Stay updated on changes in payroll and benefits regulations, ensuring company compliance.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve payroll and benefits processes.
- Support HR initiatives and projects as needed.
**What You Bring**
- Over 5 years of experience in payroll and benefits management, preferably in a global company.
- Proficiency in payroll software and systems (ADP, Dayforce). Experience with Dayforce preferred.
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws and benefits administration.
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
- Certification in payroll (PCP and PLP) or benefits is a plus.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills with advanced Excel skills.
- The salary range for this position is $90,000-$110,000. The salary range provided reflects the base salary range for this position as required by legislation. In addition, there is an annual performance bonus which contributes to the total compensation of this position. Further questions may be directed to the HR team during the interview process._
