Old Yale Brewing is currently seeking a passionate and dedicated **Human Resources Coordinator** to join our team for a 14-month maternity leave contract. In this exciting and multifaceted role, you’ll provide hands-on support across all areas of HR, including recruitment, onboarding, culture initiatives, employee relations, benefits administration, and more. You’ll work closely with leadership to support a thriving, people-first culture where every team member feels valued and empowered.

**Key Responsibilities**

As our Human Resources Coordinator, you’ll be at the heart of our people operations — supporting a thriving culture where our team members feel heard, supported, and empowered. Your role will be dynamic, collaborative, and truly impactful across all departments.
- **Lead the full employee lifecycle**: From creating engaging job postings and screening resumes to coordinating interviews and guiding new hires through warm, welcoming orientations, you'll be the first impression and consistent support for new and existing team members.
- **Champion our workplace culture**: Plan and lead engaging initiatives like our Employee of the Month program, Holiday Charity Programs, Quarterly Newsletters, and Team Events that promote connection and recognition.
- **Support employee engagement and communication**:Be a friendly, accessible point of contact for employee questions and concerns. You’ll assist with communications, updates, and regular touchpoints that keep everyone informed and connected.
- **Maintain our HR systems**:Keep our digital employee records organized and up to date, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy. You’ll manage documentation, onboarding and offboarding checklists, and support compliance with employment standards**.**:

- **Coordinate benefits and payroll support**:Assist employees in understanding and navigating their benefits. Work closely with our payroll admin to ensure smooth transitions and clear communication around leaves, changes, and updates.
- **Contribute to continuous improvement**:Participate in the creation and review of processes that reflect our growing team and evolving workplace. Your ideas and insights will help shape how we work better together.
- **Support leadership and employee relations**:Offer administrative support in sensitive conversations, performance management processes, and documentation. You'll work closely with leadership to ensure our team feels supported and aligned.
- **Collaborate with the Finance Team**: Assist with various administrative and accounting support tasks that bridge HR and Finance operations.
- **Jump in where needed**:This is a collaborative role, your willingness to adapt and take on additional HR responsibilities as they come will be a huge asset.

**Qualifications**:

- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Up to 1 year of experience in an HR or administrative role preferred
- Familiarity or experience in the craft beer and hospitality industry is an asset
- Basic understanding of Employment Standards, Human Rights, and HR best practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and organizational ability
- Able to maintain discretion and confidentiality in a people-first environment
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a genuine interest in helping others succeed

Pay: $55,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
