Social Media Creative Specialist

Working closely with the Social Media and Content Teams as part of the greater Marketing department, our Social Media Creative Specialist role provides a chance for you to bring your creativity to the Toronto Blue Jays social channels through memes, short-video edits, graphic creation and more.

Experience creating social content on Meta Platforms, Reels, TikTok, Shorts, and X is required. A strong handle of spelling, grammar, punctuation and attention to detail is vital. Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Cloud - notably Premiere, Photoshop and After Effects is mandatory.

Fluency in Spanish is a plus. Though not a primary function, experience shooting photo and video on a digital camera is also beneficial. Relevant sports experience is preferred.

Please note: This is a 12 month contract

**Responsibilities**:

- Help to create, organize and share content across Blue Jays social media platforms
- Assist with live social media coverage for both home and away games through graphic creation, meme generation and efficient video edits
- Help identify and create short form social content
- Request, cut and archive Toronto Blue Jays GIFs and maintain the clubs GIPHY account
- Track the latest trends and popular content across social platforms, and regularly share updates with the social media team.
- Collaborate with other social and content team members and Major League Baseball’s Live Content Creators
- Assist in archiving team’s social media content
- Help track performance of Blue Jays social media campaigns through post-tagging when necessary
- Assist in responding to fan questions and inquiries via social media where required
- Write entertaining, accurate social media copy where needed while maintaining a unified brand voice
- Contribute innovative ideas for new projects and social media campaigns
- Capture in-stadium social content on theme days when needed
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in social media content creation
- Strong graphic design and motion graphic creation skills
- Understanding of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere, After Effects, etc.).
- Ability to make quick video edits and caption videos
- Strong copywriting and copy-editing skills
- Strong proficiency in identifying and creating new-media social content for real-time consumption (memes, GIFs etc.)
- Ability to understand historical, current, and future trends across the social media space
- Must be able to adapt and innovate in creating content when new platforms or content formats are introduced
- Must possess good working knowledge about the game of baseball and the Blue Jays
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to collaborate and work independently successfully
- Strong organizational skills are a must
- Impeccable time management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented approach with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Overcomes challenges constructively and adjusts effectively to shifting priorities
