Position Summary:
**The Social Worker provides a range of assessments, consultation, and tiered intervention programs and services, including psychotherapy and referrals to external partners and**agencies for school students; collaborates with student services and school teams and provides ongoing consultation and capacity building as part of collaborative multidisciplinary student services team to improve mental wellness and academic engagement.**

What you bring to the team:

- Completion of master's degree in social work (MSW)
- Registration in good standing in College of Social Workers and Social Services Workers of Ontario (OCSWSSW)
- Minimum of three years of clinical experience working directly with child, youth, and families
- Strong analytical, assessment and intervention skills are required
- Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as a team member to solve school adjustment, social-emotional and behavioral problems related to mental health of students
- Training and experience in Cognitive and/or Dialectical Behaviour Therapy
- Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is an asset
- Understand and practice in accordance with federal, provincial, and local laws, statutes, and/or policies that relate to students and families, such as, child protection, special education, attendance, education rights and confidentiality
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle in order to travel and provide service throughout the district
- Awareness of a tiered approach to mental health supports for children and youth
- Knowledge of community resources
