Edmonton, Canada NAIT Full time

Reporting to the Director of Student Learning & Development, the Manager of Student Life provides operational leadership for various student supports within the Campus Life portfolio. This position provides leadership, direction, oversight and management of the Student Life portfolio which includes Careers/Academic Advising, New Student Orientation, and Mental Health Education and promotion.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Leads innovative planning and implementation of comprehensive student support programs and services.
- Supports campus-wide mental health promotion and well-being efforts.
- Manages annual budget and completes quarterly forecasts (including grant funding).
- Responds effectively to emerging issues and anticipates potential risks and identifies mitigation strategies.
- Responds effectively to escalated inquiries and complaints.
- Participates in process and policy development, implementation and assessment.
- Participates in broader departmental strategic planning activities.
- Evaluates and improves the use of technology to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of services.
- Provides coaching and mentorship to next-level and aspiring leaders within the team to build a talent pipeline.

**Skills & Abilities**:

- Leadership skills, including strategic planning and an ability to set goals and communicate them effectively.
- Ability to create and build effective teams.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A good understanding of post-secondary environments and an ability to work collaboratively within an academic community.
- Strong understanding of business processes and data collection and analysis.
- Ability to mediate and manage conflict effectively.
- In depth understanding of student supports and service models, and concepts of inclusion, accessibility, and universal design.
- Knowledge of budget management methods, techniques, and practices.
- Knowledge of methods and techniques in the implementation and operationalization of programs.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to learn NAIT programs and processes.

**Qualifications**:

- Related bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum 3 years related, progressive experience including supervisory/leadership experience in a post-secondary environment.

**Remuneration**: $3,606.18 - $4,777.63 biweekly, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
