- **Field Materials Coordinator. **This position will be located at the Construction Job Site in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Field Materials Coordinator will work with the Field Material Manager, Project Procurement Manager, and Construction Manager.
- Material Management is a continuous function to be performed concurrently with engineering, procurement, construction, and other project plans. Field Materials Management is one of the most meaningful planning project functions**Materials Coordinator Job Description**:

- Support Field Material Manager in the use and implementation of advanced planning tools to model, simulate, and release optimized material plans to the organization in developing, planning, and implementing the master schedule.
- Coordinate material control, procurement, expediting, quality control, and warehousing activities to perform material receiving, storing, handling, and issuing the materials to support project operations.
- Collaborate with Material Engineering and Material Control to maintain equipment, instruments, and commodity requirements in accordance with Engineering specifications and scopes.
- Make sure the Construction material requirements are aligned with Engineering Bills of materials.
- Plan and process warehouse material requests from Construction groups and Contractors according to the Construction installation priorities and project landmarks.
- Work with Engineering, Procurement, Expediting, Logistics, Quality around Source Inspection, Project Controls and Construction Management teams to follow up project-specific materials management and planning workflows and processes.
- Develop, maintain, and analyze material availability reports to inform Construction Management about materials availability and estimated arrival time according to Expediting and Logistics status.
- Work with Project Management in developing and analyzing project schedules and coordinating activities of assigned Material Management specialists.
- Perform accurate, timely, and efficient identification and records of material status, including requisitioning, purchasing, receiving, preservation, and issuing of materials and equipment to support EPC efforts and work face planning.
- Ensure Material Management System set-up is aligned with engineering in accordance with AP construction sequences identified in the work break down structures.
- Lead the site material module in SmartPlant Material software according to the project construction schedule, priorities, destinations, and work packages.
- Perform material forecast and reservation in accordance with the construction priorities.
- Run planning reports and help in the resolution of material related requests for information.
- Advise Project Management of developments that may substantially affect project costs or schedules and work with project teams and suppliers to find solutions to mitigate the impacts.
- Support Project and Construction Management in the identification and assessment of all identified risks with respect to supply of equipment and materials to projects
- Work with Field Procurement on the Field PO creation for different teams.
- Monitor and support shop fabricators’ material warehousing and receiving activities.
- Support Expediting and Logistics in evaluation, selection, and routing material shipments between project destinations in accordance with project requirements, shipment directions, work processes and procedures.
- Evaluate innovation ideas as a mean for continuous improvement process in Material Management and Control activities while considering project costs and risks.
- Make recommendations to improve, raise awareness when process concerns exist; be knowledgeable of, and understand the current schedule on all equipment and materials; address any problems/concerns.
- Provide recommendations to projects for vital corrective action (e.g., early identification of materials’ delays, potential surplus, efficient expediting, identify impacts of delays in material delivery and provide construction alternatives, etc.)
- Prepare and issue planning, expediting, and engineering reports for Field management meetings to support Project Construction activities in accordance with project standards and priorities.
